This guitar arrived to us with a split top but has been professionally repaired by our tech Julian. It still sounds and plays great and has a full 1 year warranty.
The Motif takes its compact dimensions from turn-of-the-century parlor guitars. This is an excellent instrument for anyone more comfortable with a smaller instrument. The compact body of the Motif suggests a ¾ size instrument but this is a full-scale guitar. There is more to the compact body style of the Motif than comfort, this is a serious guitar with many of the same features that professional guitarists look for in the best handcrafted instruments. The solid cedar top and genuine lacquer finish ensure that this guitar will not only sound great when you first receive it but will actually become better sounding with playing over time. The body is made from a three-way lamination of hardwood that includes a poplar center sandwiched between two layers of mahogany. The Motif neck is made from Honduras mahogany with an Indian rosewood fingerboard.

What an amazing instrument with a tone to die for. This bass dates to 1964 and has the correct serial number with blue label to match. Everything works and is remarkable condition for a bass of its age. The single Neck pickup sounds thunderous! This bass has the most low end of any bass we have ever had in the shop. The on board switch toggles between two different tone circuits. One has the full on tree felling bottom end mentioned earlier and the other has a more twangy rubbery sound. At some point the bass has had another pickup and switch added which have been off the bass for at least a decade. No case included.

A very high spec bass for the money! Featuring Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder pickups with Wilkinson Active pre amp, 24 frets and a quilt maple top.

This is in simply stunning condition considering the age of the guitar. The serial number dates it to late 1959 and the seller brought the guitar from new in that year. There are no issues with construction at all. The neck is perfectly straight and playable, the guitar has had no repairs or modifications over the years. The common problem of poor neck joint strength in early Hofners is no issue here.
A similar condition guiar recently sold on ebay for £1499 - £1299 is a very fair price.
No original case, gigbag included.
