The double-bound alder body and multi-ply pickguard that dressed up the ’62 Telecaster guitar distinguished it from its Butterscotch predecessor. And rosewood, originally introduced for cosmetic reasons because maple was prone to showing wear, quickly grew in popularity with the warmth it added to the classic Telecaster tone.In the spirit of the original, the American Vintage ‘62 Telecaster Custom guitar has a C-shaped maple neck with a 7.25in-radius rosewood fingerboard. It also features a pair of ’62 Custom Tele single-coil pickups, a vintage Tele bridge with threaded steel saddles, and the original Tele circuit with three-position switch.
This is a model which is no longer imported by Fender and is presented in good order wityh a padded gig bag included. This model is gloss black/rosewood and has been improved with a Seymour Duncan little 59 in the bridge and has been set-up in store.
1972 was a magical year for the Telecaster® guitar, which was then available in several new designs and with more options than ever before.The '72 Telecaster Deluxe features many of those options, including an alder or ash body (depending on finish), a C-shaped maple neck, bullet truss rod, '70s vintage hardtail strings-through Strat® bridge, three-bolt neckplate, '70s Strat headstock, two Wide Range humbucking pickups, traditional three-way switching and four skirted amp knobs.
